We are very excited to announce the final group of the artists (below) who will participate in WTF Is A Portrait art show at Prism Arts Philadelphia. There was an overwhelming response to the open call and we are in awe at how international this show has turned out to be.
There will be a lot to see and read so come with curiosity and an open mind.

Exactly wtf is a portrait? An exhibition at Prism Arts Philadelphia exploring what imagemakers think makes an image into a portrait. A portrait of Whom? A portrait of WHAT? Human? Animal? Microbe? Fungus? Rock? Glint of sun on water? The hint of consciousness? The afterglow in the dusky sky? Does it teach, does it question, does it storytell? Is empathy important?

The art work will be displayed on 30 plasma screens with looped slideshows of individual imagemaker's works interspersed with prints on the walls.
Each collection of an imagemaker's work centers around a printed text manifesto of what a "Portrait" means to them.
We did NOT curate the works. We curated the selection of imagemakers based on their written Manifesto and their portfolio. Once selected, they choose what to show on this exhibition.
The Art Show will open January 5th - January 12th, 2024.
